When you join dance and the Child international you join two organizations: the national organization (daCi USA) and the international organization (daCi).
Who can join?
Membership is open to those individuals and organizations who recognize the right of every child and young person (0 - 18 years) to dance, and who agree with the following objectives of daCi:
- Increase and develop opportunities for young people to experience dance as creators, performers, and spectators throughout the world.
- Ensure the dance interests of young people are recognized and developed.
- Develop an awareness of cultural diversity.
- Encourage and make available research into all aspects of dance for, with, and related to young people.
- Advocate the inclusion of dance in both general education and community programs.
- Facilitate exchange and collaboration among members regarding dance
for young people.
What does membership include?
- International membership in daCi includes membership in daCi USA as well as the liaison with UNESCO through representation to the Conseil de la Danse (CID).
- The opportunity to attend and participate in international and national conferences held every three years.
- The biannual on-line International Newsletter (daCi In Print) which provides news about other members and their activities, and international resource material.
- Biannual daCi USA newsletters which includes resource material, member news, conference information, and more.
- Access to papers and reports of previous international conferences.
- Links with members of the international and national dance network on the daCi Connect site sponsored by daCi International.
- The daCi USA Membership Directory, which is mailed to current members in January.
- Membership runs from January 1 to December 31.

Membership Types
When you join dance and the Child international you join two organizations: the national organization (daCi USA) and the international organization (daCi).
You can join daCi USA through three different types of membership:
- Individual Membership
- Children's Dance Group or Family Membership
- Organization or Institutional Membership
Individual Membership
Benefits: daCi USA newsletter and directory; email notices and international e-newsletter; your name listed in directory and newsletter; daCi Delights, professional networks.
- Individual membership is attained by payment of the annual dues to be determined periodically by daCi International and daCi USA.
- The individual member is entitled to attend National and International general membership meetings and enjoys full voting powers, including a postal or email vote.
- The individual member is entitled to all privileges and services of daCi USA and daCi International as may exist at any given time.
*Student memberships are open to undergraduate and graduate students at colleges and universities, with student ID.)
Individual Membership Fee Breakdown
- Professional dues: Total $70 ($30 to daCi USA / $40 to daCi International)
- Student/Retired dues: Total $35 ($15 to daCi USA / $20 to daCi International)

Children's Dance Group or Family Membership
Groups may be considered to be those collectives operating within an educational, recreational or artistic context which feature dance for young people up to the age of eighteen.
Benefits: two daCi USA newsletters and directories emailed to group address; email notices, daCi Delights, and international e-newsletter to the group e-address, group name listed in directory and newsletters.
- Group membership is attained by payment of the annual dues to be determined periodically by daCi and the Board of Directors of daCi USA. The name of the group's representative must be stated.
- Each group shall be entitled to one vote cast by a designated voting representative at National and International membership meetings or postal vote. Other members of the group may attend and participate in the membership meetings but not vote.
- All young children/youth and two adult personnel eligible to participate in daCi activities at member rates.
Children's Dance Group or Family dues Breakdown
Total: $80 ($30 to daCi USA / $50 to daCi International)
Organization/Institution Membership
Organizations and Institutions may be considered to include adult dance companies, studios, universities, colleges, professional associations, business/corporations, etc.
Benefits: five daCi USA newsletters and directories emailed to group address; email notices, daCi Delights, and international e-newsletter to group e-dress; organization/institution name listed in directories and newsletter.
- Organization/Institution membership is attained by payment of the annual dues to be determined periodically by daCi and the Board of Directors of daCi USA. The name of the group's representative must be stated.
- Each organization shall be entitled to one vote cast by a designated voting representative at National and International membership meetings or postal vote. Other members of the group may attend and participate in the membership meetings but not vote.
- Five individuals are eligible to participate in daCi activities at member rates.
